Join us

Membership to the community shall be open to;
i. Any Lango person or his/her partner who has attained 18 years of age.
ii. Such person a person described in 4(i) above;
a) Must be resident in the metropolitan Gulu,
b) Must be of sane mind,
c) Must be of good moral character and
d) Must not have any criminal record.
iii. Any such person described in 4(1)(ii & iii)

Membership to the Community shall be under the following

1. Registered member: One who has paid membership and welfare as stipulated by the  constitution
2. Honorary member: One honored to join the community either because he/she values the  aspiration, vision and mission of the group Or Because of his/her outstanding achievement  in society
3.  Co-opted member: One appointed to membership of the community because of his/her  technical competence, qualification or required input into the community.

All new members shall pay membership fee (once). For every ensuing year, members shall pay annual subscription fees and other fees as shall be determined by the executive and approved by the General Assembly from time to time

Rights of Members

Registered members of the community shall have the following rights:

1. Elect or be elected as office bearers on merit
2. Appeal and be heard if aggrieved
3. Contribute during meetings of the community
4. Vote on contentious issues and the decision of the majority (simple majority votes) shall over rule the minority decision. Without negating the binding effect of the aforementioned, all honorary and co-opted members shall be ex-officio

Save as otherwise provided by the constitution, every member of the community shall be under aduty and obligation to:
1. Promote and further the objectives of the community to the best of his/her ability
2. Participate in the activities, functions and meetings of the community
3. Exercise honesty, diligence, respect and good conduct in general and especially towards other members of the community.
4. Fulfil all financial obligations including membership fees and other authorized contributions.
5. Abide by the constitution and any by-laws, regulations, directives or request made there under.
6. Faithfully and effectively execute all duties and responsibilities bestowed upon him/her
7. Perform such duties or work as may from time to time be assigned to him/her for the purpose of promotion and furtherance of the aims and objectives of the community.

A member or his/her representative shall be entitled to a financial   support  of an amount to be proposed by the Executive and approved by the General Assembly in the event of critical sickness, incapacitation and or death of any of the following persons;
i. A member who has been in the community for at least two (2) months.
ii. His/her spouse(s)
iii. His/her child(ren)
iv. His/her parent(s)
v. Any destitute from Lango land in Gulu.

Membership to the community ceases with effect from the date;
i. A member voluntarily resigns
ii. A member dies
iii. A member is involved in gross misconduct contrary to the objective and ethics of the community.
iv. A member is convicted of a criminal offence involving moral turpitude
v. Member fails to pay annual subscription fees and or other fees approved by the General Assembly
vi. When a member is declared mentally unfit by an acclaimed medical authority
