Won Nyaci Me Lango Urges Lango Residents to Prioritise Peace, Charity and Road Safety During Festive Season

Lira, Uganda | His Royal Highness Eng. Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune, the Won Nyaci Me Lango, has urged residents to observe responsible and compassionate behaviour during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Through his spokesperson, Counsel Patrick Okwir, the cultural leader emphasised the need for peace, unity, and family harmony, warning against domestic violence and criminal activities that could lead to imprisonment.

He also encouraged the community to support the vulnerable, including children, the elderly, and the sick, through acts of kindness and practical assistance such as providing food and other essential items.

Highlighting public safety, the Won Nyaci called on motorists and pedestrians to exercise patience and vigilance on the roads to prevent accidents during the festive season.

He further encouraged Christians and all community members to extend goodwill to neighbours, promote coexistence, and include those in hospitals and prisons in festive celebrations, combining prayers with tangible support.

The cultural leader concluded by wishing all Lango residents and Ugandans nationwide a joyful, safe, and prosperous festive season, underscoring that the spirit of Christmas and the New Year is best expressed through love, unity, and social responsibility.
